Massachusetts man with 11 active warrants accused of scamming elderly woman out of thousands
A previously wanted Massachusetts man is being accused of scamming a senior citizen.
According to police, on Tuesday, Sharon Police Department took a report of an elderly female who was scammed out of $4,000 cash by an individual going door to door claiming he could pave her driveway. This individual allegedly took $4,000 in cash from the elderly female and never returned to do the work.
Sharon Police Detective Pasco began an investigation and discovered the same individual is being investigated by multiple police departments in Massachusetts for the same scam. This individual was identified as William “Bill” Pusateri of Dedham who has 11 active warrants out for his arrest. Pusateri used company names of Priority 1 Paving out of Dedham and Best Price Paving in the Sharon area and is working with others yet to be identified.
On Thursday, Sharon Police Detective Pasco located Pusateri inside a motel room in Sharon. With the assistance of patrol, Detectives took Pusateri into custody.
He was transported to Stoughton District court where he was arraigned on charges for the Sharon incident of 266/30/I Larceny Over $250 from a +60/Disabled person, as well as C266/40 Common Notorious thief. He will also answer to the 11 outstanding warrants.
According to court records, Pusateri pled not guilty and is being held on $250,000 bond/$25,000 cash bail, returnable for a January 22nd pretrial hearing.
