Massachusetts man wins $1 million while waiting for a pizza; has a smart plan for his winnings

They say good things come to those who wait. For a Massachusetts man, that good thing was a million dollars.

According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Richard Mulombre of Marblehead is the winner of a $1 million prize on a Powerball ticket purchased in Massachusetts for the multi-state game’s Saturday, July 18th drawing that featured a $526.4 million jackpot.

Mulombre won the prize after the first five numbers on his Quic Pic ticket matched those selected in the drawing. He claimed his $1 million prize (before taxes) Thursday, July 23rd at the Massachusetts State Lottery’s Dorchester headquarters. He said he plans to put the winnings towards retirement.

His winning ticket was purchased at Quisqueya Food Mart, 34 Union St in Lynn, while he was waiting with his kids for a pizza order nearby The store receives a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
