Massachusetts man who has been playing Lottery for over 50 years, finally hits it big
A Massachusetts man finally had his lucky day after playing the Lottery for over 5 decades.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Brian Leonard is the winner of a $25,000 a year for life prize in the multi-state Lucky for Life game after the first five numbers on his Quic Pic ticket matched those selected in the drawing that took place June 15.
Leonard, who is from Somerset, said he has been playing the Lottery since it started in 1972, claimed his prize Monday, July 31 at Massachusetts State Lottery headquarters in Dorchester. He chose the cash option on his prize and received a one-time payment of $390,000 (before taxes).
He purchased his winning ticket at Buffington Mini Mart, 75 Buffington St. in Swansea. The store receives a $5,000 bonus for its sale of the ticket.
