Massachusetts man who died from injuries in Cape Cod motorcycle crash remembered as family man with adventurous spirit

A Massachusetts man killed in a Cape Cod motorcycle crash is being remembered.
According to police, on Wednesday, at 1:30 p.m., the Falmouth Police Department and Falmouth Fire and Rescue Department responded to a serious two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on West Falmouth Highway (Route 28), just south of Braeside Road in the area commonly known as Wishing Moon Hill.
Upon arrival, officers located the motorcycle operator in the roadway with life-threatening injuries. Officers immediately rendered aid until care was transferred to Falmouth Fire and Rescue personnel. The operator of the other vehicle remained on scene and sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Both individuals were transported to Falmouth Hospital.
Tragically, the motorcycle operator, Kenneth Lavache, 65, of Hudson, later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at Falmouth Hospital.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle had pulled out from a common drive onto West Falmouth Highway and failed to yield the right of way to the oncoming motorcycle. The motorcycle struck the front driver’s side of the vehicle, resulting in the operator being ejected.
The Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Criminal Investigation responded to assist at the scene. The Massachusetts State Police later responded and assumed jurisdiction over the crash.
According to an obituary, Lavache worked for 37 years at Aggregate Industries before recently retiring where he operated a ready-mix concrete delivery truck. He was also a family man who loved area sports teams. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast who looked forward to riding his Harley Davidson, partaking in many cross-country trips and rides with a close-knit group of friends since the late 1970s.
“Kenny’s adventurous spirit and love for music brought joy not only to his life but to those around him. To know him was to love him.”
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on June 11, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, located at 50 Central St., Hudson, MA. A Mass will be held the following day, June 12, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Saint Michael’s Parish, 21 Manning Street, Hudson, MA, followed by burial at Forestvale Cemetery in Hudson at 11:00 AM.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
