Luck was on the side of a Massachusetts man, and he used it to hit $1 million on a State Lottery scratch ticket.

According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Thomas Beasley of Medford is the winner of a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$4,000,000 Monopoly Doubler” $10 instant ticket game.

Beasley chose the cash option on his prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). He said he plans to invest his winnings.

The winner had started a new job and was feeling lucky, so he bought a few tickets, one of which was the big winner.

He purchased his winning ticket at Daily Mart, 267 Spring St. in Medford. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.

$4,000,000 Monopoly Doubler has zero $4,000,000 and one $1,000,000 prizes remaining.
