A Massachusetts man has a smart plan after hitting a massive multi-million-dollar haul recently on a State Lottery scratch ticket.

According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Francis Mendes of New Bedford won a $4 million grand prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$4,000,000 Gold 50X” $10 instant ticket game.

Mendes plans on saving his big win.

He took the $2.6 million cash option.

He bought his winning ticket at his favorite store, County General Convenience in New Bedford. The store receives a $40,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.

$4,000,000 Gold 50X has one $4,000,000 winner and three $1,000,000 winners remaining.
