Massachusetts man turns $1,800 State Lottery win into $1 million prize, plans on helping family
A Massachusetts man has turned one smaller State Lottery win into a much bigger prize just in time for Christmas.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Ronald DiRamio is the winner of a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “15,000,000 Money Maker” instant ticket game.
DiRamio, who is from Brockton, chose the cash option on his prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). He said he plans to use some of his winnings to help out his children and grandchildren.
He purchased his winning ticket at Brockton Food Mart, 1293 Main St. in Brockton. He said that he decided to buy this $30 instant ticket after having first won $1,800 playing Keno. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
