Massachusetts man taking “it is better to give than to receive” to heart after State Lottery $1 million prize
They say it is better to give than to receive. A Massachusetts man is taking that to heart after hitting big money on a State Lottery scratch ticket.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Khalil Soussa is the winner of a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “15,000,000 Money Maker” instant ticket game.
Soussa who is from Medford, chose the cash option on his prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). He said he had purchased the ticket a few months ago, but only recently discovered it was a big winner when his house cleaner found the ticket in a vase and presented it to him. He said he plans to use some of his winnings to help a friend and to donate some to charity.
His winning ticket was purchased at Tony’s Convenience, 416 Salem St. in Medford. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
