A Massachusetts couple is dead after an incident that took place over the weekend.

According to the Essex District Attorney’s Office, at just after midnight Sunday morning, the Lawrence Police Department responded to a 911 call in the area of 10 Willow Street. Upon arrival, officers encountered a woman, Yomarys Herrera Marte, 41, with apparent trauma who was later declared deceased. At the same location, a man, Eddys Caceres Acosta, 45, was discovered deceased from apparent injuries.

A preliminary investigation indicates that Marte was stabbed by Acosta, who then jumped out of a third-story window, with each party dying from their injuries.

The investigation remains active and ongoing and is being conducted by Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Essex District Attorney’s Office, the Lawrence Police Department and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

A GoFundMe fundraiser has been organized for the daughter of the deceased.
