Massachusetts man sharing $1 million instant ticket after relative helps with cancer, crash injuries
They say no good deed goes unpunished. A Massachusetts man is sharing his $1 million instant ticket win after someone got him through difficult times.
Brian Parisi of Gloucester is the first $1 million prize winner in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “Double Your Money” instant ticket game. He opted to receive his prize in the form of a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes).
According to Massachusetts State Lottery, Parisi, who two years ago was seriously injured in a car accident and was subsequently diagnosed with cancer, plans on putting a portion of his winnings toward replacing the roof on his brother-in-law’s house to thank him for all that he has done for him during his trying times.
Parisi also plans on investing some of his winnings for him and his two sons. His winning ticket was purchased at Ed’s Mini Mart located at 89 Washington St. in Gloucester. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
