Massachusetts man sentenced to prison in Fall River court on several firearm charges
A Massachusetts man pled guilty and was sentenced yesterday morning after a jury had been selected but before his trial began on firearms charges in the Fall River Superior Court.
According to Jennifer Sowa of the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, 36-year-old Jules Tucker of Stoughton plead guilty to Unlawful Carrying of a Firearm, Possession of a High-Capacity Firearm and Carrying a Loaded Firearm and was sentenced by the Honorable Thomas Perrino to serve a State Prison sentence of 2 ½ to 4 years.
On June 15, 2022, at just after 1:00 a.m., Trooper Jared Hebert of the Massachusetts State Police observed Tucker operating his motor vehicle on Route 138 in Raynham. Trooper Hebert’s query of his license plate revealed the vehicle was uninsured and had an expired inspection sticker. Trooper Hebert then conducted a motor vehicle stop. Tucker was the sole occupant and driver of the vehicle. Prior to his vehicle being towed, Trooper Hebert conducted an inventory of the vehicle per department policy during which he discovered a Smith and Wesson, .40 caliber handgun which was loaded with 13 bullets under the front driver’s seat. Tucker did not have a license to carry.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Jason Mohan.
