Massachusetts man pleasantly surprised after winning twice as much as he thought on a State Lottery scratch ticket; here is how he plans on spending it
A Massachusetts man’s children must be rejoicing after finding out how their father plans on spending his winnings off of a scratch ticket.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Michael LeVardi of Pittsfield is the winner of a $500,000 top prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s new “$500,000 Frenzy” $50 instant ticket game.
LeVardi received a one-time payment of $500,000 (before taxes). He said he plans to save for retirement and pay off his child’s student loans.
He didn’t notice the second 50X and thought he had won $250,000!
The winning ticket was purchased at Winners Corner, 2302 Turnpike St. in North Andover. The store will receive a $5,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
The “$500,000 Frenzy” instant ticket launched with a total of 50 top prizes. This is the second $500,000 to be claimed.
