A Massachusetts man plans on staying put and already knows what he will do with the cash after hitting big money on a scratch ticket.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Nelson Faria is the winner of a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “777” $10 instant ticket game.
Faria, of Malden, chose to receive his prize in the form of a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). He said he plans to remodel his home and invest with the winnings.
He purchased his winning ticket at Shell, 1001 Cambridge St. in Cambridge. The store receives a $10,000 bonus for its sale.
