Massachusetts man plans on helping families in need after hitting $1 million lottery prize
A Massachusetts man hit big money recently and plans on using it to help those in need.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Winston Lloyd is the winner of a $1 million Powerball prize after the first five numbers on his ticket matched those selected in the game’s Wednesday, August 16 drawing.
Lloyd, who is from Hyde Park, chose his numbers randomly, claimed his $1 million prize (before taxes) Tuesday, August 22 at the Massachusetts State Lottery’s Dorchester headquarters. He plans to use some of his winnings to help families in his community.
He purchased his ticket at Home Market, 165 Belgrade Ave. in Roslindale. The store receives a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.

As long as he realizes how little of that money he’ll have after taxes; that’s fantastic.
