Massachusetts man out on bail for alleged crimes against children arrested on disturbing new charges
EAST BRIDGEWATER — Chief Michael Jenkins reports that following an extensive and thorough investigation, East Bridgewater Police have arrested an East Bridgewater man on multiple child pornography charges.
In June, East Bridgewater Police initiated an investigation after receiving a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force regarding a local man’s online activity.
Through an investigation, detectives identified 21-year-old Bradley Collins, of East Bridgewater, as the suspect.
On Wednesday, East Bridgewater Police Detectives applied for and were granted a search warrant for electronic devices in Collins‘ possession.
Following the seizure of two electronic devices from his residence, Collins was taken into custody and charged with Possession of Child Pornography (Two Counts) and Distribution of Material of a Child in a Sexual Act.
According to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, in September, Collins was arraigned in Plymouth District Court on charges of Indecent Assault & Battery on a Child Under 14, Photographing Sexual or Intimate Parts of a Child, and Child in Nude, Lascivious Pose/Exhibit. He pleaded not guilty to all charges and was released after posting $15,000 cash bail. Collins was ordered to stay away and have no contact with the victim in this case, have no contact with any underage children, stay away from the Plymouth Boys and Girls Club and was placed on GPS monitoring with a curfew of 6 p.m. to 8 a.m.
On August 12th, Plymouth Police were alerted to an incident which had occurred the previous day at a summer camp at the Plymouth Boys and Girls Club. Investigators found credible reports that Collins — who was employed by the camp — had inappropriately photographed a young child before instructing the child not to tell anyone what had occurred. Collins changed his version of events numerous times during an interview with investigators at the Plymouth Police Department and initially denied having taken photos during the incident. He later stated he had in fact taken photos during the incident.
Court records show that Collins has a hearing on compliance on the previous charges in Plymouth Superior Court on August 18th.
Collins was arraigned Tuesday in Brockton District Court on the news charges. He pled not guilty and is being held on $25,000 cash bail.
“Cases involving the exploitation of children are among the most disturbing crimes our investigators encounter,” said Chief Jenkins. “We appreciate the assistance of our law enforcement partners, including Massachusetts State Police. We are committed to working with them to identify offenders, protect children and hold those responsible fully accountable.”
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
