Massachusetts man makes smart move after hitting $1,000,000 State Lottery prize on instant game

A Massachusetts man is welcoming in the new year right with a big win on a State Lottery scratch ticket.

According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Daniel Espinosa Valencia of East Boston has won a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$4,000,000 Gold 50X” $10 instant ticket game.

Espinosa Valencia chose the cash option on his prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). He plans to invest the winnings. 

He purchased his winning ticket at The Corner Mini Market, 515 Bennington St. in East Boston. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.

$4,000,000 Gold 50X has one $4,000,000 and one $1,000,000 prizes remaining.
