Massachusetts man makes smart decision after hitting $1 million State Lottery prize

Can’t remember the last time I saw a Massachusetts man select this type of purchase after winning big money on a State Lottery instant game, but it’s a smart decision.

According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Piyushkumar Patel of Auburndale has won a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “Lifetime Millions” $50 instant ticket game.

Patel opted to receive his prize in the form of a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). He said he plans to purchase a new business with the winnings.

He purchased his winning ticket at Lynnfield Street Market, 263 Lynnfield St. in Lynn. The store receives a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
