Massachusetts man killed in Cape Cod restaurant remembered as devoted father to 8-year-old daughter
A man killed in an incident at a Cape Cod restaurant is being remembered as the suspect in his death faced a judge.
According to family members and a GoFundMe fundraiser, 35-year-old Careeme Harakh of Hyannis was tragically killed inside the Moonfish Restaurant in Dennis on Saturday.
“He was a devoted father to his 8-year-old daughter, Allison Harakh, and cared for her since the day she was born. His sudden loss has left Allison and her mother facing unimaginable emotional and financial challenges. Allison’s mother is now struggling to provide for her daughter while coping with the grief of losing her partner.”
CBS News is reporting that 26-year-old Nicholos Campbell, who was charged with murder, turned himself in claiming that he shot Harakh in self-defense after being jumped and stabbed in the head.
The shooting took place just after midnight and both patrons and employees stated they did not see the altercation that Campbell referenced.
According to CBS News, Campbell’s lawyer said that the pair knew each other and that his client is a law-abiding, good person.
Court records show that Campbell was held without bail and has a probable cause hearing scheduled in Orleans District Court for July 9th.
