Massachusetts man killed after fatal crash between tractor-trailer, pickup truck
A Massachusetts man has been killed after a serious crash Saturday morning.
According to Dave Procopio of Massachusetts State Police, at approximately 9:10 a.m., Massachusetts State Troopers responded to a crash between a tractor-trailer and a pickup truck on the eastbound side of the Massachusetts Turnpike in Charlton. The crash resulted in the death of the pickup operator.
The decedent, who was operating a 1989 GMC Sierra pickup, was a 35-year-old Tyngsborough man. He was determined to be deceased at the scene.
The operator of the 2017 Kenworth tractor cab, a 54-year-old Nevada man, was not injured.
The facts and of the crash remain under investigation by Troop C of the Massachusetts State Police, the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, the State Police Crime Scene Services Section, and the State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section. Charlton Firefighters assisted MSP at the scene.
The right travel lane was closed at the crash site to accommodate the rescue response and investigation. The scene was cleared at 12:45 p.m.
