Massachusetts man hits $4 million State Lottery prize on new game; here is how he plans on spending it
Playing a recently released State Lottery scratch ticket has turned out to be extremely lucrative for a Massachusetts man.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Jose Fernandes of Woburn is the first $4 million grand prize winner in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s new “$4,000,000 Cash Doubler” $10 instant ticket game that went on sale Tuesday, February 17.
Fernandes chose the cash option on his prize and received a one-time payment of $2,600,000 (before taxes). He said he plans on purchasing a house with the winnings.
The winning ticket was purchased at Mobil, 386 Main St. in Melrose. The store receives a $40,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
The “$4,000,000 Cash Doubler” instant ticket includes two more instant grand prizes of $4 million.
