Massachusetts man held without bail after being accused of distributing and possessing child s*x abuse images

A 33-year-old Massachusetts man is facing some disturbing charges.

According to police, on Monday, at just before 4:00 p.m. the Derry Police Department took Matthew K. Rettig of Weymouth into custody on 9 counts of Distribution of Child Sexual Abuse Images (Class A felonies) and 3 counts of Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Images (Class A felonies).

The investigation originated from a Cyber-tip to the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC), of which Derry PD is a participating member.

The Derry Police Department investigation was assisted by the Weymouth MA Police Department and the Barnstable MA Police Department. 

Following his arrest, Rettig was held without bail, per statutory requirement, and brought to Rockingham County Jail. 

He is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday, at the 10th Circuit – District Division Court – Derry.
