Massachusetts man has some ideas under consideration after winning $1 million State Lottery prize on scratch ticket
Southern Massachusetts has broken a drought this week after two big State Lottery scratch ticket wins.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, James Seavor is the winner of a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “Diamonds and Dollars” $5 instant ticket game.
Seavor, a retired fisherman from Swansea, opted to receive his prize in the form of a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). He said that while he doesn’t have any plans for his winnings at the moment, he is considering taking a cruise.
He purchased his winning ticket at Swansea Mart, 367 Wilbur Ave. in Swansea. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
Since the two big wins claimed in the last week, the Fall River area had not seen a winner of $1 million or more since July 2022 and a winner of over $500,000 since September of this year.
