Some grandchildren must be rejoicing after a Massachusetts man who recently won a big lottery prize announced how he plans on spending his winnings.

According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Stephen Foley of South Dennis is the winner of a $25,000 a year for life prize in the multi-state Lucky for Life game after the first five numbers on his ticket matched those selected in the February 14, 2026, drawing.

Foley claimed his prize Tuesday, March 3 at Massachusetts State Lottery headquarters in Dorchester. He chose the cash option on his prize and received a one-time payment of $390,000 (before taxes). He said he plans on using his winnings to treat his grandchildren.

He purchased his winning ticket at Willow Tree Market, 15 Charles St. in Hyannis.

The Lucky for Life game has ended, with its final drawing on February 21, 2026. Lucky for Life prizes must be claimed within one year following the date of the drawing.
