Massachusetts man has big plans after $10 million State Lottery prize but moving isn’t one of them
A Massachusetts man has big plans after hitting big money on a scratch ticket, but moving isn’t one of them.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, John Boyce is the first $10 million prize winner in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$10,000,000 Premier Cash” $20 instant ticket game.
While visiting one of his favorite restaurants, Boyce purchased three tickets and it was the third one that was the charm. He chose to receive his prize in the form of a one-time payment of $6,500,000 (before taxes).
Boyce, a machinist from Groveland, said he intends to retire soon. He said he plans to use his winnings to pay off the mortgage on his house, buy a new car, and invest.
He bought his winning ticket at Yujo, 511 Merrimack Ave. in Dracut. The store receives a $50,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
