3 people were injured, 2 of which were transported to a hospital after multiple dog bites in Fall River.
According to Det. Sergeant Moses Pereira at just after 8:45 p.m. on Saturday, units responded to a three-tenement property on Aetna Street in response to a report that a child had been bitten by a dog.
Police and rescue responded to investigate the report. Officers learned that a 7-year-old was entering the home accompanied by his mother, while a neighbor was exiting the home with their leashed dog.
It appears as though the child was startled by the dog and his reaction resulted in the dog biting him in the leg. The child’s mother sustained superficial bite wounds while attempting to separate the dog from her child.
The child’s father heard the commotion and responded to the entrance of the home to assist. He sustained a bite wound in the groin area during the commotion.
The child and his father sustained non-life-threatening injuries which are being treated at Rhode Island Hospital.
Pereira stated that Animal Control responded to the home to take custody of the dog and begin the quarantine process.
The dogs name was Porkchop.

Maybe the hallway they were in was small? Dog’s lash out pretty fast, but after one bite the owner should have had the dog under control! Sounds like an aggressive dog.

Why haven’t any print or TV reports named the breed of dog? It seems like an obvious curiosity.
Because police didn’t release the breed of the dog. We asked PD and after we published the report, the other outlets saw our story and were given the same info.
