A Massachusetts man is facing a disturbing charge.

According to police, on Tuesday, the Hanover Police Department Detective Division, in conjunction with the Pembroke Police Department, executed a search/arrest warrant at a residence in Pembroke related to an incident that occurred at the Starland Sports Complex on 2/3/25. The incident involved an interaction between an adult male and a juvenile male in a restroom.

As a result of the subsequent search of the home, Detectives were able to locate key evidence that tied 44-year-old Robert Schroeter to the incident. Schroeter was placed under arrest and transported to the Hanover Police Department where he was booked on the charge of Open & Gross Lewd & Lascivious Behavior.

Schroeter was ultimately released on $5000 cash bail and arraigned at Hingham District Court Wednesday morning. A pretrial court date has been set for March 14, 2025.

The Hanover Police Department thanked the Pembroke Police Department for their assistance in this case as well as those who responded to a social media posting that was made in an attempt to identify the subject involved. Tips provided to Detectives, along with the full cooperation of Starland Management, were instrumental in efforts to identify the involved subject and taking him into custody.
