Massachusetts man arrested in attack on 92-year-old man
A Massachusetts man has been arrested after a senior citizen was attacked.
According to MBTA Transit Police, on Friday, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Transit Police officers assigned to the South District received a radio call to respond to the MBTA’s Quincy Center Station for a report of an assault.
Upon arrival, officers located a 92-year-old male victim bleeding from his head and a concerned citizen attempting to control the bleeding. Witnesses present pointed out a man, later identified as 49-year-old Armando Hernandez, of Boston, as the assailant. Officers immediately sought out Hernandez and made observations of his inebriated state and his uncooperative disposition.
The victim relayed he was forcefully shoved from behind which caused him to fall to the ground striking his head on the pavement. Police stated that the attack was unprovoked and the victim has no familiarity with Hernandez.
Hernandez was placed into custody for Assault & Battery on an Elderly Person w/injuries and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.
Victim was transported to a local area hospital for treatment.
