Massachusetts man arrested, held without bail, in murder of 27-year-old Hugo Delrosario

A suspect in a Massachusetts murder has been placed into custody.

According to the District Attorney’s Office, on Saturday, September 13, 2025, Hugo Delrosario, 27, of Lawrence, was pronounced deceased on scene following a fatal shooting at 154 Essex Street in Lawrence.

In Haverhill this morning, Hector Mota, 18, of Haverhill, was arrested and charged with the murder of Delrosario.

Mota was arraigned on the murder charge today in Lawrence District Court by the Hon. Mark Sullivan. Mota was also arraigned on one count of carrying a loaded firearm without a license and one count of carrying a firearm without a license.

Mota was ordered held without bail. He is slated to return to court for a probable cause hearing on Thursday, February 5, 2026.

No other details were released.

All suspects and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
