Massachusetts man arrested after driver reportedly hit with a machete in road rage incident
This is another cautionary tale after a Massachusetts man was arrested after a reported violent road rage incident.
According to police, on Sunday just before 2:15 p.m., Worcester Police officers were dispatched to the area of Millbury and Providence St for a report of a road rage incident involving a machete.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with witnesses who reported that a white Toyota was following a blue Honda. The operator of the Honda got out of his vehicle to ask why he was being followed, and the operator of the Toyota struck the victim in the head and back with the machete. Officers observed evidence of this assault and called for an ambulance.
Officers issued a BOLO for the Toyota with Rhode Island license plates, which they located at a red light on McKeon Road. After a brief investigation, officers arrested 40-year-old Ezekial Santiago and located a machete in the vehicle.
Santiago is charged with Armed Assault to Murder and three counts of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. He will be arraigned in court.
