A Massachusetts man has been arrested by Massachusetts State Police outside of the Karen Read trial.

According to Massachusetts State Police, the Trial Court issued an order regarding the second Commonwealth v. Karen Read trial which restricts activities in the area of the Norfolk Superior Courthouse in Dedham (also known as the buffer zone). The Trial Court charged Dedham Police along with the Massachusetts State Police with ensuring the integrity of the buffer zone through uniformed patrols.

Recognizing the unique nature of this mission, all sworn members assigned to the area of the Courthouse received training to ensure they understand their patrol responsibilities and can assist constituents who need guidance about their responsibilities under the order.

This morning at approximately 8:30 a.m., State Police encountered a man lingering and filming within the buffer zone. Troopers requested that the man exit the buffer zone several times and explained the protocols and rationale of the Court. When the man did not exit the zone after several requests, Troopers arrested him for violating the order.

Once in custody, the man requested medical attention, and Troopers facilitated an evaluation by Dedham EMS before transporting him to the Framingham Barracks for booking.

The man is identified as Bao Nguyen, 42, of Woburn. He is expected to be arraigned at Dedham District Court today (Tuesday) for the charge of trespassing.
