A Massachusetts man has a lot to smile about after hitting big money on a scratch ticket.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Joseph Rooney of Weymouth is the winner of a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$10,000,000 Cash Blast” $20 instant ticket game.
Rooney chose the annuity option on his prize and received the first of 20 annual payments of $50,000 (before taxes). He plans on buying a new home with the winnings.
He bought his winning ticket at 7-Eleven, 363 Hancock St. in Quincy. The store receives a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
