Massachusetts man accused of brandishing gun and threatened to shoot woman at Plymouth County beach

A Massachusetts man is facing charges after an incident at a Plymouth County beach.
According to police, on Friday, at approximately 9:30 p.m., the Duxbury Police Department responded to the East Lot of Duxbury Beach following a report from a female caller who stated that a man driving a black Nissan had brandished a handgun and threatened to shoot her.
Upon arrival, officers interviewed the caller, who confirmed the threat and provided a description of the vehicle and its operator. Officers located the black Nissan attempting to exit the East Lot and conducted a high-risk traffic stop. The driver, identified as 28-year-old Nicholas Haddad, complied with police instructions and was detained without incident. During the investigation, Haddad informed officers that he had a “BB Gun” in the vehicle. A search revealed a replica Glock airsoft gun under the driver’s seat, nearly indistinguishable from a real firearm, complete with Glock markings, a working slide, and a removable magazine. A second replica Glock airsoft gun was also found in the vehicle.
Haddad stated that the woman had approached him, asked questions, and shined a flashlight in his face, prompting him to point the airsoft gun at her out of irritation. He was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Threat to Commit a Crime.
Incidents involving BB or airsoft guns that closely resemble real firearms pose significant risks, as they can rapidly escalate situations. Had the airsoft gun been pointed at officers or another armed individual, the outcome could have been tragic.
