According to Dave Procopio of Massachusetts State Police, on Tuesday, the Massachusetts State Police Cyber Crime Unit arrested a Massachusetts man after locating numerous images depicting child sexual exploitation on multiple electronic devices used by the suspect. The devices were located in the suspect’s home during execution of a court-authorized search warrant.
44-year-old Ryan Cook, a lacrosse coach at Wellesley High School, was placed under arrest for two counts of possession of child pornography and transported to State Police-Framingham, where he was booked.
The images of child sexual abuse material were located during an on-scene forensic preview of Cook’s devices, which were seized pursuant to the warrant.
The investigation by State Police is ongoing; other potential charges may be sought pending the results of a more complete forensic examination of the seized devices in a laboratory setting.
The State Police investigation was opened after a tip provided by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
