Massachusetts former boss accused of murdering Mitchell Burke held without bail

WORCESTER – A Worcester man who was arrested earlier this month in connection with the death of a man found in Hubbardston has had his charges upgraded, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early, Jr.
32-year-old Ryan Wilcox was previously charged with armed assault with intent to kill, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury, and assault with a dangerous weapon.
On Tuesday, Wilcox was charged with murder in the death of 32-year-old Mitchell Burke of Worcester. He was arraigned in Worcester Central District Court and ordered held without bail.
On Saturday, January 4th, just before 10:00 a.m., Hubbardston Police responded to the report of a body discovered in the woods off of Brigham Street. Hubbardston Police and the Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s office began investigating.
The deceased was identified as Burke.
According to NBC 10 Boston, investigators spoke to Wilcox who allegedly said he hit Burke, a former employee, with a metal baseball bat multiple times, including on his head, days before Burke was found deceased.
Wilcox is due back in court on 2/19.
