Massachusetts Environmental Police report coyote dies after illegal trap
A coyote had to be put down after a reported illegal trap in Bristol County.
According to Massachusetts Environmental Police, on Sunday, the Massachusetts Environmental Police received a report of a coyote caught in a leghold trap in the Turner Street area of East Taunton. Although the trapping of coyote is legal during the open trapping season in the Commonwealth, the use of leghold traps is strictly prohibited.
Due to the significant injuries sustained from the leghold trap, the coyote was put down.
