A driver was seriously injured after a rollover highway crash in Massachusetts on Wednesday morning.

According to the Kingston Fire and Emergency Management, shortly before 9:00 a.m., Kingston Fire and Police responded to Route 3 at Exit 17 for a motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, units found a single vehicle had gone over the guardrail, struck several trees and rolled down the embankment, landing on its side.

The lone driver was able to exit the vehicle with some assistance from fire and police. He was transported by Kingston ambulance to Kingston Collections where he was flown by MedFlight to a Boston trauma center with severe injuries.

Off duty members were recalled, assisting at the scene and securing the landing zone. A Duxbury engine covered Kingston Station 1. One of the ambulances was already out of town with a previous medical transport at the time of this incident.
