Massachusetts DOT announces road repairs on I-195 in Somerset, Swansea until late 2026

SOMERSET/SWANSEA – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has announced that it will be performing road repairs on I-195 on both sides from mile marker 11.02 (Somerset) to 4.22 (Swansea). Weekly work is scheduled for Sunday nights through Friday mornings, between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 4:30 a.m. the following morning, beginning on Tuesday, September 2nd, and continuing through November 2026.  

Lane closures on I-195 northbound and southbound will be in place. Temporary traffic alterations, including lane and shoulder closures, will occur as needed. At least one lane of travel will be maintained at all times, and police will assist with traffic control and safety setups. 

Appropriate signage and messaging will be in place to guide drivers through the work area.     

Drivers traveling through the affected area should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.
