Massachusetts DOT announces new exit ramp on Route 24 to open soon; here are the impacts
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has announced that it will be permanently shifting traffic onto the new exit 17A off-ramp from Route 24 northbound to Route 140 southbound in Taunton.
The work to shift traffic will take place on Monday August 25, during the hours of 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Lane closures on Route 24 northbound and Route 140 southbound will be in place during work hours.
Temporary traffic alterations, including lane and shoulder closures, will occur as needed. At least one lane of travel will be maintained at all times, and police will assist with traffic control and safety setups.
Once completed, traffic will be shifted onto the new exit 17A off-ramp from Route 24 northbound to Route 140 southbound.
Appropriate signage and messaging will be in place to guide drivers through the work area.
Drivers traveling through the affected area should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.
All scheduled work is weather dependent and subject to change without notice.
