Massachusetts DOT announces maintenance work on Fall River, Somerset, New Bedford, Fairhaven bridges
FALL RIVER/SOMERSET/NEW BEDFORD/FAIRHAVEN – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has announced that it will be performing maintenance and debris removal along the curbs on Braga Bridge (I-195 eastbound and westbound), including along the on and off ramps. This work will begin on Tuesday, March 19, at 9:00 p.m. and will conclude by 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20.
MassDOT will also be performing maintenance and debris removal along the right lane curbs on the New Bedford Fairhaven Swing Bridge (Route 6 eastbound and westbound). This work will begin on Tuesday, March 19, at 9:00 p.m. and will conclude by 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20.
Traffic will be controlled by the use of a State Police controlled rolling roadblock.
Appropriate signage, law enforcement details, and advanced message boards will be in place to guide drivers through the work areas.
Drivers traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.
All work is weather permitting and may change without notice.
