The Office of the Essex County District Attorney Paul Tucker and Beverly Police Chief John LeLacheur have announced that two deaths yesterday at a Beverly home are being viewed by investigators as an apparent murder-suicide.

An adult female and an adult male with apparent gunshot wounds were pronounced deceased on scene inside a home on Colonial Drive in Beverly late Monday night.

The Beverly Police Department responded to the residence at approximately 9:40 p.m.

Beverly PD, the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to Tucker’s office, and the Massachusetts Office of the Chief Medical Examiner are investigating the deaths.

Authorities say that there is no greater threat to the public in relation to this incident.
