Massachusetts Department of Transportation to temporarily close ramp on I-195

FALL RIVER- The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has announced that it will be performing bridge drainage cleaning on the I-195 westbound exit 11 ramp to Route 79/138 northbound. Work will take place on Thursday, August 22, from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. the following morning. The following detour will be in place: 

I-195 westbound exit 11 ramp to Route 79/138 northbound closed 

• Take I-195 westbound exit 11 to Route 138 southbound
• Turn right onto Davol Street
• Continue onto Route 79/138 northbound 

Drivers who are traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.  

Appropriate signage, law enforcement details, and advanced message boards will be in place to guide drivers through the work area. 

All scheduled work is weather dependent and/or may be impacted due to an emergency.
