Massachusetts Department of Transportation announces lane closures, intersection improvements, on Route 6 through Fall 2028

SWANSEA – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has announced it will be performing intersection improvements at three intersections on Route 6 at Route 118, Maple Avenue and Route 136 in Swansea. 

Daily work is scheduled to take place Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., beginning Monday, November 3, and continuing through Fall 2028.

Lane closures on Route 6 will be in place. Temporary traffic alterations, including lane and shoulder closures, will occur as needed. At least one lane of travel will be maintained at all times, and police will assist with traffic control and safety setups.

Appropriate signage and messaging will be in place to guide drivers through the work area.    

Drivers traveling through the affected area should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.
