Massachusetts custodian plans on fulfilling his dreams after hitting $1 million State Lottery prize

A Massachusetts man has some big plans after hitting big money on a State Lottery scratch ticket.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, John Balsam of Springfield is the winner of the third and final $1 million grand prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$1,000,000 Stacks of Cash” instant ticket game.
He chose the cash option on his prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). Balsam plans on buying a house, a red pickup truck he’s dreamed about since he was a teen, and then saving the rest of the winnings.
Balsam, a custodian, found out he won when scratching the ticket at home one day after work. When talking about his win, Balsam said, “I was scratching the ticket, then boom, my life changed!”
He purchased his winning ticket at Irving, 11 Tapley St. in Springfield. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
