Massachusetts COVID-19 positive test rate decreases to 2.82%, over 80 new deaths reported
Massachusetts saw a decrease in active cases, hospitalizations, and positive test rate in Wednesday’s COVID-19 report.
Massachusetts saw 1,920 more positive cases announced today. An increase from Tuesday’s report. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate has declined to 2.82%, the lowest it has been since November 7th.
Massachusetts had seen 1,319 more positive cases announced yesterday.
The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total confirmed cases to 521,045 with 83 more reported dead (82 confirmed, 1 probable) for a total of 15,207 (14,903 confirmed, 304 probable).
The overall amount of tests administered in Massachusetts is now 14,520,845 after 100,271 new molecular tests.
The 7 day average of confirmed COVID-19 deaths is currently 47.3.
Estimated active cases saw a decrease to 52,372.
Hospitalizations have increased in 92 of the last 147 days and 67 of the last 106 and saw a decrease of 43 to lower the total to 1,358. COVID-19 hospitalizations have decreased as of late as there were 2,428 in the Bay State on January 4th. December 2nd was the last time that COVID-19 hospitalizations were this low.

Weekly COVID-19 Public Health Report
According to the February 4th report, Fall River has a 83.6 Average Daily Incident Rate per 100,000 (Last 14 days) (99.6 last week). New Bedford saw a decrease to 83.4 (was 107.3). Westport is also in the red at 50.3 (was 63.5), Swansea is at 75.2 and was 86.0 last week. Somerset also saw a decrease as they sit at 72.9 (was 79.1). Freetown decreased to 52.9 from 78.1. Dartmouth is currently at 55.6 after seeing 68.0 last week. Acushnet is currently at 82.7 (was 105.3).

• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 217,093
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 20,776
Massachusetts Officials have now also issued a “vaccine doses administered and shipped” report updated on February 4th.

As of February 10th, according to the CDC, the United States has seen 27,030,549 cases of COVID-19 with 466,465 reported deaths.
