Massachusetts COVID-19 hospitalizations increase 9 of last 11 days, positive test rate also increased

Massachusetts saw another increase in hospitalizations in Friday’s COVID-19 report.

Massachusetts has seen 454 more positive cases announced today. A decrease from Thursday’s report. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate has increased to 0.9%.

Massachusetts had seen 455 more positive cases announced yesterday.

The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total cases to 127,317 with 10 more reported dead for a total of 9,160.

15,854 tests were performed on new individuals, over 2,700 less than yesterday’s report, to increase the amount of individuals tested to 2,160,250. The overall amount of tests administered in Massachusetts is now 3,706,728.

The 3 day average of COVID-19 deaths decreased to 11.

Hospitalizations have increased in 9 of the last 11 days and by 14 today to see the total rise to 389.

Massachusetts residents subject to COVID-19 quarantine by current status up to September 23rd
• Total of individuals subject to quarantine: 87,024
• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 84,350
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 2,674

According to the CDC, as of September 25th, the total amount of COVID-19 cases in the country is 6,958,632 with 202,329 dead.
