Massachusetts COVID-19 hospitalizations, death rate, positive test rate all increase

Massachusetts saw another increase in hospitalizations in Monday’s COVID-19 report.

Massachusetts has seen 367 more positive cases announced today. A decrease from Sunday’s report. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate increased to 0.9%.

Massachusetts had seen 594 more positive cases announced yesterday.

The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total cases to 128,793 with 11 more reported dead for a total of 9,202.

13,049 tests were performed on new individuals, over 5,000 less than yesterday’s report, to increase the amount of individuals tested to 2,205,674. The overall amount of tests administered in Massachusetts is now 3,931,219.

The 3 day average of COVID-19 deaths increased to 13 from 10.

Hospitalizations have increased in 11 of the last 14 days and increased by 10 today to see the total rise to 418.

Massachusetts residents subject to COVID-19 quarantine by current status up to September 23rd
• Total of individuals subject to quarantine: 87,024
• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 84,350
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 2,674

According to the CDC, as of September 28th, the total amount of COVID-19 cases in the country is 7,095,422 with 204,328 dead.
