Massachusetts COVID-19 cases increase to 413, Taunton resident has virus
The total number of COVID-19 cases in Massachusetts increased by 85 since yesterday.
The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total cases to 413.
Massachusetts is still one of the states in the country with the most coronavirus cases.
63 cases have been found to be transmitted through the community and 49 are related to traveling. 204 are under investigation.

Governor Baker stated that he plans to continue to ramp up testing with 3,500 a day starting some time early next week.
Massachusetts residents subject to COVID-19 quarantine by current status as of March 17, 2020
Total of individuals subject to quarantine: 2054
Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 886
Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 1168
According to the CDC, the total amount of cases in the country is 15,219 with 201 dead. Massachusetts has seen one fatality.
Mayor Shaunna O’Connell and Taunton Board of Health Executive Director Heather Gallant report that the City of Taunton has received notification of a single positive case of COVID-19 in Taunton.
The Taunton Board of Health was notified of the positive test result and have been in contact with the resident and Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH). In order to protect the resident’s medical privacy rights, no additional information can be disclosed.
If anyone displays symptoms of COVID-19 including a fever, cough or shortness of breath, they should not report to work or school, limit contact with others, and they are advised to contact their primary care physician.
Easton, Raynham, Mansfield, Attleboro, and Freetown have also seen cases of COVID-19.
