A Massachusetts couple’s love for a certain State Lottery scratch ticket turned out to be very lucrative.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, William J. Stuart Jr. has won a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$2,000,000 50X Cashword” $10 instant ticket game.
Stuart, who is from Taunton, said that he and his wife love to play crossword tickets and they were scratching together when he hit his big prize. He opted to receive his prize in the form of a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes).
He purchased his winning ticket at Girlies Variety, 96 Oak St. in Taunton. The store receives a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
