They say cats have nine lives, but a Massachusetts animal organization says that these three tiny orange babies may have already used one up.

According to MSPCA-Angell, after a fire in Lynn tore through a multi-family home a few weeks ago, a construction worker was cleaning up the rubble when he heard faint squeaky meows. He dug through the debris and found a litter of 4 four-week-old kittens covered in soot. The hero brought the kittens into the care of MSPCA-Northeast Animal Shelter in Salem.

Sadly, one kitten was deceased upon arrival, having sustained fatal burns. The remaining three had injuries from the fire, including burns on their feet and tails, as well as singed fur and whiskers. They were put on oxygen support when they arrived and sent home with Kaleigh, a member of the clinic team, for round-the-clock monitoring. MSPCA-Angell is happy to share that these three are now stable and doing well!

Now that the kittens are in better shape, they will spend the next few weeks getting big and strong in foster before becoming available for adoption.
