Massachusetts and Rhode Island’s No Joke Smoke BBQ closes chapter after 10 unforgettable years
A local award-winning BBQ brand in the area that previously closed their brick-and-mortar location, has announced that it is coming to an end.
In a social media statement on Thursday evening, No Joke Smoke BBQ announced that they are ceasing after 10 years.
“What started as farmers markets and homemade sauces grew into catering, pop‑ups, a restaurant, and a food trailer — but more than anything, it became a way for us to connect with an incredible community. Through every long night, challenge, and celebration, your support carried us forward.
“This journey has been one of the greatest honors of our lives. We are deeply grateful for every customer, friend, and relationship built along the way. You didn’t just support a business — you became part of our story.
“While this chapter comes to a close, we leave with full hearts, proud of what we created and thankful for the memories we’ll carry forever.
“From both of us — thank you for believing in No Joke Smoke BBQ. We truly loved every minute of serving you. Ryan & Sharon”
No Joke opened at the end of 2018 at the Swansea Mall only to find out a few months later that they needed to find a new home.
Ryan and Sharon Nahas started their adventure selling BBQ sauces in 2015. The popularity of the sauces led to the location at the mall.
Wanting to stay in the area, No Joke found a new spot at 396 Wilbur Avenue in Swansea in March of 2019 before closing in April of 2023.
No Joke on Wilbur had N.E. Style, Award Winning, homemade BBQ sauces and local entertainment on the weekends.
Fall River Reporter contacted the eatery after the brick-and-mortar closure to see what their next move was with their big orange trailer.
“We will be everywhere… colleges, dispensaries, breweries, festivals, private events, farmers markets, car shows, you name it. We will be posting our full event calendar for 2023 and revised catering options and available dates in the coming days. We are grateful that we are booking up super-fast.”
